Sorbitol imports into Norway fell sharply to X tons in 2021, waning by -19.8% on 2020 figures. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 126% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, sorbitol imports contracted to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a deep downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 75%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

France (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Denmark (X tons) were the main suppliers of sorbitol imports to Norway, together accounting for 40% of total imports. These countries were followed by Belgium and China, which together accounted for a further 3.8%.
