The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 with an increase of 144%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing exports contracted modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted mild growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 92% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for textile tubing exports from Norway, with a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, textile tubing exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ukraine (X tons), ninefold. Denmark (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 4.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to +8.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+87.3% per year) and Denmark (+10.9% per year).

In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing exports from Norway, comprising 54% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ukraine ($X), with a 6.4% share of total exports. It was followed by Denmark, with a 5.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to the United States stood at +3.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ukraine (+80.4% per year) and Denmark (+13.1% per year).

In 2022, the average textile tubing export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, saw a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 13%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, textile tubing imports into Norway skyrocketed to X tons, growing by 91% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 99% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, textile tubing imports soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 63%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

China (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) were the main suppliers of textile tubing imports to Norway, with a combined 79% share of total imports. Spain, Austria, Poland, Lithuania, the UK and the Netherlands lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
