In value terms, wood tool exports rose sharply to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 85% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Denmark (X tons) was the main destination for wood tool exports from Norway, with a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, wood tool exports to Denmark exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by the UK (X kg), with an 8.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Denmark amounted to -3.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (+4.0% per year) and the UK (+17.3% per year).
In value terms, Sweden ($X) remains the key foreign market for tools of wood exports from Norway, comprising 65% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Denmark ($X), with a 17% share of total exports. It was followed by the UK, with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Sweden totaled +15.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Denmark (+9.1% per year) and the UK (+23.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average wood tool export price amounted to $X per ton, dropping by -20.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 209%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per ton in 2020, and then fell rapidly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+24.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Norway
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of tools of wood decreased by -14.6% to X tons in 2021. In general, imports showed a mild slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 33%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, wood tool imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 69%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Slovakia (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Latvia (X tons) were the main suppliers of wood tool imports to Norway, with a combined 64% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Latvia (with a CAGR of +77.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, India ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tools of wood to Norway, comprising 52% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Sweden ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Slovakia, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from India amounted to +38.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Sweden (+4.9% per year) and Slovakia (-4.3% per year).

In 2021, the average wood tool import price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 75% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a prominent increase. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per ton), while the price for Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
