In value terms, unmanufactured tobacco imports declined rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 493%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Denmark (X tons) constituted the largest unmanufactured tobacco supplier to Norway, accounting for a 49% share of total imports. Moreover, unmanufactured tobacco imports from Denmark exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X kg), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the UK (X kg), with a 0.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Denmark totaled +17.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+62.1% per year) and the UK (-25.9% per year).

In value terms, Denmark ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tobacco (unmanufactured) to Norway, comprising 54% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the UK ($X), with a 0.6% share of total imports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 0.5% share.
