In 2021, purchases abroad of woven fabrics of cotton was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 44%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cotton fabric imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 26% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons), Pakistan (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of cotton fabric imports to Norway, with a combined 58% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +3.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
