Exports from Oman

In 2022, overseas shipments of argon increased by 17% to X cubic meters, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 335% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X cubic meters in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, argon exports contracted notably to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 204%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X cubic meters) was the main destination for argon exports from Oman, accounting for a 95% share of total exports. Moreover, argon exports to the United Arab Emirates exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Iran (X cubic meters), more than tenfold.

In 2022, argon imports into Oman stood at X cubic meters, approximately reflecting 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 88%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In value terms, argon imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, imports recorded a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 85% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
