Saudi Arabia (X tons) was the main destination for wooden joinery and carpentry exports from Oman, accounting for a 50% share of total exports. Moreover, wooden joinery and carpentry exports to Saudi Arabia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Somalia (X tons), with a 12% share.

The second position in the ranking was taken by Sri Lanka ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a 10% share.

In 2021, purchases abroad of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood was finally on the rise to reach X tons after three years of decline. In general, total imports indicated modest growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -32.3% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 53%. The United Arab Emirates (X tons), China (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of wooden joinery and carpentry imports to Oman, together comprising 79% of total imports. Belgium, Iran, Saudi Arabia, India, Malaysia and Luxembourg lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 18%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Luxembourg (with a CAGR of +499.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of builders' joinery and carpentry of wood to Oman, comprising 51% of total imports.
