Butter Market Size in Oman

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Omani butter market, when its value decreased by -16.6% to $X. In general, consumption, however, recorded buoyant growth. Butter consumption peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

After five years of growth, purchases abroad of butter decreased by -13.8% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.

In value terms, butter imports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 43%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Denmark (X tons), India (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main suppliers of butter imports to Oman, with a combined 84% share of total imports. The United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Ukraine and China lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of +55.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
