In 2022, after six years of growth, there was decline in the Omani camel meat market, when its value decreased by -2.4% to $X. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 132% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, camel meat imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 174%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.

In 2022, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of camel meat to Oman, with a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, camel meat imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Pakistan (X tons), fourfold.
