Exports by Country
Qatar (X tons) was the main destination for crude palm oil exports from Oman, with a 85% share of total exports. Moreover, crude palm oil exports to Qatar exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Yemen (X tons), eightfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Qatar amounted to -7.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Yemen (-15.6% per year) and Bahrain (+22.2% per year).
In value terms, Qatar ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for crude palm oil exports from Oman, comprising 72% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Bahrain ($X), with a 14% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Qatar amounted to -6.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bahrain (+38.0% per year) and Yemen (-21.5% per year).

The average crude palm oil export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a mild slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 21% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Bahrain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Qatar ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+187.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of crude palm oil into Oman fell to X tons, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a pronounced decrease. In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of crude palm oil to Oman, comprising 99% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Malaysia ($X), with a 0.2% share of total imports.
