Yemen (X tons) was the main destination for preserved frozen potato exports from Oman, accounting for a 62% share of total exports. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +94.8% against 2012 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 21% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, preserved frozen potato imports contracted modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -6.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved frozen potato imports to Oman, with a combined 46% share of total imports. The Netherlands, Germany, Iran, Austria, France and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 9.3%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Iran (with a CAGR of +32.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest preserved frozen potato suppliers to Oman were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Belgium ($X) and Egypt ($X), together accounting for 51% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Iran, France and the United States, which together accounted for a further 8.6%.

The average preserved frozen potato import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -3.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 9.8% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2017 to 2021, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Iran ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
