In 2021, paper label exports from Oman declined significantly to X tons, waning by -51.5% compared with the previous year. In general, exports, however, recorded a modest expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 180%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, paper label exports shrank sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted measured growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 158% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Qatar (X tons), the United Arab Emirates (X tons) and Yemen (X tons) were the main destinations of paper label exports from Oman, together accounting for 95% of total exports. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 4.3%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Kuwait (with a CAGR of +389.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Qatar ($X) and Yemen ($X) were the largest markets for paper label exported from Oman worldwide, together comprising 90% of total exports. Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 9.2%.
Kuwait, with a CAGR of +313.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kuwait ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Yemen ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+19.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Oman
Paper label imports into Oman shrank rapidly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -18.6% on 2020. Overall, total imports indicated temperate growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -34.3% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, paper label imports fell to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +43.0% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of paper label to Oman, accounting for a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, paper label imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), more than tenfold. The United States (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 1.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United Arab Emirates stood at +4.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+3.3% per year) and the United States (+25.5% per year).
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of labels of paper or paperboard to Oman, comprising 85% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 4.4% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 4.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United Arab Emirates stood at +6.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+3.5% per year) and the United States (+11.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average paper label import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, increasing by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated pronounced growth from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.2% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, paper label import price increased by +99.8% against 2017 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 64%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
