In 2021, the Omani non-medical x-ray market increased by 20% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, consumption, however, saw a resilient increase. Non-medical x-ray consumption peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, consumption failed to regain momentum.

Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X kg in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, non-medical x-ray exports shrank slightly to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 258% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

India (X kg), the United Arab Emirates (X kg) and Qatar (X kg) were the main destinations of non-medical x-ray exports from Oman, together comprising 83% of total exports. These countries were followed by Belgium, the UK and Germany, which together accounted for a further 17%.

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 296%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-medical x-ray imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. Malaysia, France, Saudi Arabia, Luxembourg, Belgium, Finland and the United States lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 24%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Finland (with a CAGR of +57.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
