Imports into Oman
After two years of growth, overseas purchases of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice decreased by -29.3% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 486% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced markedly in the following year.
In value terms, imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice contracted to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 439%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Thailand (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of concentrated lemon and other citrus fruit juice to Oman, with a combined 89% share of total imports. Egypt, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Bangladesh and Lebanon lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 6.7%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Sri Lanka (with a CAGR of +177.7%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
