In value terms, exports of glass fibre filaments, rovings, chopped strands, and staple glass fibre articles rose to $X in 2021. In general, exports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when exports increased by 176%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Saudi Arabia (X tons) and Qatar (X tons) were the main destinations of exports of glass fibre filaments, rovings, chopped strands, and staple glass fibre articles from Oman, with a combined 95% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 70% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2020, and then contracted notably in the following year.
In value terms, imports of glass fibre filaments, rovings, chopped strands, and staple glass fibre articles reduced sharply to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 79% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
