From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Qatar amounted to +32.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+17.2% per year) and Yemen (-0.8% per year).

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes, when their volume decreased by -72.2% to X tons. In general, imports recorded a mild setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 33% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, vinegar-preserved vegetable imports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 25%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
Imports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Egypt (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main suppliers of vinegar-preserved vegetable imports to Oman, with a combined 76% share of total imports. Mexico, Lebanon, Turkey, Pakistan, Syrian Arab Republic and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Mexico (with a CAGR of +49.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest supplier of vegetables in vinegar other than potatoes to Oman, comprising 36% of total imports. Over the period under review, import price indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, vinegar-preserved vegetable import price increased by +73.8% against 2020 indices. As a result, import price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Pakistan ($X per ton), while the price for Egypt ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
