In value terms, apple juice exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 844% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The UK (X tons) was the main destination for apple juice exports from Pakistan, accounting for a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, apple juice exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Oman (X tons), threefold. Canada (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 15% share.

In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 209% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, apple juice imports reduced to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 100%. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) constituted the largest apple juice supplier to Pakistan, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, apple juice imports from the United Arab Emirates exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Spain (X tons), fourfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the United Arab Emirates totaled +8.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Spain (+34.5% per year) and Turkey (-24.3% per year).
