Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, ceramic household article exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports posted a resilient expansion. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons), the UK (X tons) and Saudi Arabia (X tons) were the main destinations of ceramic household article exports from Pakistan, together accounting for 77% of total exports. Oman, the United States, Canada, Italy and Tanzania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Oman (with a CAGR of +90.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for ceramic household article exported from Pakistan were the UK ($X), Saudi Arabia ($X) and Canada ($X), together accounting for 72% of total exports. The United Arab Emirates, the United States, Oman, Italy and Tanzania lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 22%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Oman, with a CAGR of +66.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average ceramic household article export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 6.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a pronounced downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 39% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Pakistan
In 2021, overseas purchases of ceramic household articles and toilet articles increased by 19% to X tons for the first time since 2017, thus ending a three-year declining trend. Overall, total imports indicated prominent growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 61%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, ceramic household article imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +27.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 67% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic household article to Pakistan, accounting for a 81% share of total imports. Moreover, ceramic household article imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United Arab Emirates (X tons), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China stood at +6.2%.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of ceramic household articles and toilet articles to Pakistan, comprising 91% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 7% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +7.7%.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average ceramic household article import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 3.4% against the previous year. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the price for the United Arab Emirates amounted to $X per ton.
