The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments shrank significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 789% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then fell remarkably in the following year.

The United States (X units) was the main destination for exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments from Pakistan, with a 47% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Bangladesh (X units), with a 13% share.

In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 333% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at X units in 2020, and then reduced notably in the following year.

In value terms, imports of non-woven, felt and coated textile garments declined significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 481% against the previous year.
