The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 1,088% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Afghanistan (X tons) was the main destination for non-alloy steel i-sections exports from Pakistan, accounting for a approx. 100% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-alloy steel i-sections imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a dramatic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 194%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Singapore (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-alloy steel i-sections imports to Pakistan, with a combined 57% share of total imports. These countries were followed by China, Bahrain, Turkey, South Africa, the UK and Spain, which together accounted for a further 35%.
