In value terms, fungicide and bactericide exports reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 667%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Uzbekistan (X tons) was the main destination for fungicide and bactericide exports from Pakistan, accounting for a 93% share of total exports. Moreover, fungicide and bactericide exports to Uzbekistan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Tunisia (X kg), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Uzbekistan stood at +24.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tunisia (-4.3% per year) and the United Arab Emirates (+24.1% per year).

In value terms, Uzbekistan ($X) remains the key foreign market for fungicides, bactericides and seed treatments exports from Pakistan, comprising 83% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 9.7% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Uzbekistan totaled +24.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+26.9% per year) and Tunisia (-10.1% per year).

Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, fungicide and bactericide imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.8% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +51.0% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 45%. Vietnam, India, France, the United States, the UK, Singapore, Spain, Indonesia, Thailand and Bangladesh lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 45%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +35.3%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest fungicide and bactericide suppliers to Pakistan were China ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Germany ($X), together accounting for 53% of total imports. These countries were followed by Switzerland, India, France, Singapore, the United States, the UK, Indonesia, Thailand, Spain and Bangladesh, which together accounted for a further 42%.

India, with a CAGR of +34.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average fungicide and bactericide import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, picking up by 5.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 38% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per ton), while the price for Bangladesh ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
