Kaolin Market Size in Pakistan

In 2021, the Pakistani kaolin market increased by 9.3% to $X, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. In 2021, overseas shipments of kaolin and kaolinic clays were finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports recorded modest growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 2,205%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, kaolin exports declined markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 1,961% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

China (X tons) was the main destination for kaolin exports from Pakistan, with a 54% share of total exports. Moreover, kaolin exports to China exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Djibouti (X tons), twofold.
