For the third year in a row, the Pakistani non-domestic dryer market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by 65% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption continues to indicate prominent growth. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the market failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, exports of non-domestic dryers from Pakistan skyrocketed to X units, growing by 43% on the year before. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when exports increased by 3,038% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer exports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. In general, exports posted a slight expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 2,955%. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Kuwait (X units), Bahrain (X units) and Bangladesh (X units) were the main destinations of non-domestic dryer exports from Pakistan, with a combined 85% share of total exports. Jordan and Sri Lanka lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 14%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Jordan (with a CAGR of +26.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for non-domestic dryer exported from Pakistan were Bangladesh ($X), Kuwait ($X) and Jordan ($X), with a combined 81% share of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Jordan, with a CAGR of +25.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average non-domestic dryer export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -28.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed slight growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 75%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sri Lanka ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sri Lanka (+11.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, overseas purchases of non-domestic dryers increased by 68% to X units, rising for the third consecutive year after two years of decline. Overall, imports enjoyed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 302% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-domestic dryer imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 251% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2021, Indonesia (X units) constituted the largest non-domestic dryer supplier to Pakistan, with a 57% share of total imports. Moreover, non-domestic dryer imports from Indonesia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Italy (X units), with a 2.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Indonesia stood at +30.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+5.2% per year) and Italy (-3.2% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-domestic dryers to Pakistan, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Indonesia ($X), with a 9.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled +12.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Indonesia (+31.9% per year) and Italy (+2.6% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average non-domestic dryer import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, which is down by -2.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 55%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per unit), while the price for Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+10.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
