Overall, imports, however, faced a deep setback. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, graphite non-electrical articles imports declined slightly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), China (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of graphite non-electrical articles imports to Pakistan, together accounting for 47% of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Japan, Sweden, the UK, Luxembourg and South Korea, which together accounted for a further 27%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Sweden (with a CAGR of +65.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
