The UK (X units) was the main destination for semiconductor device exports from Pakistan, with a 98% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands (X units), with a 2.2% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the UK amounted to +24.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+49.3% per year) and Singapore (-49.8% per year).
In value terms, the UK ($X) remains the key foreign market for semiconductor devices exports from Pakistan, comprising 98% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 1.7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the UK amounted to +18.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+47.2% per year) and Singapore (-49.4% per year).

In 2021, the average semiconductor device export price amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -38.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 176%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Singapore ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Singapore (+0.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Pakistan
In 2021, supplies from abroad of semiconductor devices decreased by -1.1% to X units, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. Overall, imports recorded a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 144%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, semiconductor device imports shrank notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a deep reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 43% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X units), Spain (X units) and the UK (X units) were the main suppliers of semiconductor device imports to Pakistan, together accounting for 90% of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Spain (with a CAGR of +42.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of semiconductor devices to Pakistan, comprising 45% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Japan ($X), with a 9.2% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 7.4% share.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average import price increased by 384% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while the price for Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
