In general, exports, however, posted a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 353% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet exports declined notably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 372%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 253%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then declined dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, cellulose fibrecement sheet imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 300%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In 2022, Vietnam (X tons) constituted the largest cellulose fibrecement sheet supplier to Pakistan, accounting for a 63% share of total imports. Moreover, cellulose fibrecement sheet imports from Vietnam exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Sri Lanka (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Thailand (X tons), with a 10% share.
