The UK (X units) was the main destination for sportswear exports from Pakistan, accounting for a 56% share of total exports. In value terms, the UK ($X) remains the key foreign market for track suits, ski suits and swimwear exports from Pakistan, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Australia, with a 5.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the UK totaled +24.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United States (+0.4% per year) and Australia (+10.8% per year).

In 2021, the average sportswear export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by 21% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.5%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 33%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably country of destination: the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into Pakistan
In 2021, sportswear imports into Pakistan contracted dramatically to X units, waning by -27.2% compared with 2020 figures. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 169%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X units in 2020, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
In value terms, sportswear imports declined rapidly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 73% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest sportswear supplier to Pakistan, with a 56% share of total imports. Moreover, sportswear imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United Arab Emirates (X units), fivefold. Bangladesh (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +10.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+15.1% per year) and Bangladesh (+36.5% per year).
In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), China ($X) and Cambodia ($X) constituted the largest sportswear suppliers to Pakistan, with a combined 83% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Cambodia, with a CAGR of +77.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average sportswear import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, surging by 17% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a slight slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 an increase of 69%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while the price for Indonesia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
