The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 108% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports of attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Mauritius (X litres) was the main destination for exports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Pakistan, with a 97% share of total exports. It was followed by Brunei Darussalam (X litres), with a 2.9% share of total exports.

Imports into Pakistan
After four years of decline, overseas purchases of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages increased by 1,759% to X litres in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a noticeable curtailment. Imports peaked at X litres in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages soared to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at $X in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Italy (X litres) constituted the largest supplier of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to Pakistan, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X litres), threefold. Hong Kong SAR (X litres) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Italy amounted to +77.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Greece (+84.3% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+14.8% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages to Pakistan, comprising 40% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Singapore ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a 7.2% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Italy stood at +63.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Singapore (+21.7% per year) and Poland (+66.6% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages amounted to $X per litre, shrinking by -17.5% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a temperate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, import price for spirits, liqueurs and other spirituous beverages decreased by -32.5% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 37% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per litre in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per litre), while the price for Mexico ($X per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+9.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
