Blanket Market Size in Peru

After six years of growth, the Peruvian blanket market decreased by -16% to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, consumption, however, saw a buoyant increase. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then declined sharply in the following year.

After six years of growth, overseas purchases of blankets and traveling rugs (except electric blankets) decreased by -14.3% to X tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 40% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then reduced in the following year.

In value terms, blanket imports contracted rapidly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 51% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In 2022, China (X tons) was the main blanket supplier to Peru, accounting for a 121% share of total imports. It was followed by Free Zones (X tons), with a 3% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +8.8%.
