In value terms, dry bean exports fell to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 135% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell in the following year.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 474% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, dry bean imports fell remarkably to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate a abrupt decrease. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 432%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, Bolivia (X tons) constituted the largest dry bean supplier to Peru, with a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, dry bean imports from Bolivia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), tenfold. Argentina (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.5% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Bolivia amounted to +31.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+20.2% per year) and Argentina (+0.8% per year).

In value terms, Bolivia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of beans (dry) to Peru, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 9.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Bolivia totaled +33.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+13.4% per year) and Mexico (-11.7% per year).

The average dry bean import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with a decrease of -10.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 28%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
