Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, preserved frozen potato exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, exports continue to indicate perceptible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 455% against the previous year. Chile (X tons) was the main destination for preserved frozen potato exports from Peru, with a 45% share of total exports. Moreover, preserved frozen potato exports to Chile exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Venezuela (X tons), twofold. In 2021, the amount of frozen potatoes prepared or preserved imported into Peru surged to X tons, jumping by 32% on 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.0% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -22.3% against 2019 indices. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, preserved frozen potato imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -15.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

The Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved frozen potato imports to Peru, with a combined 47% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +12.6%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of frozen potatoes prepared or preserved to Peru, comprising 32% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 14% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 3.3% share.
