Exports from Peru

In 2022, the amount of heat exchange units exported from Peru skyrocketed to X units, surging by 19% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 127%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, heat exchange unit exports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 110%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Costa Rica (X units) was the main destination for heat exchange unit exports from Peru, accounting for a 45% share of total exports. Moreover, heat exchange unit exports to Costa Rica exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Ecuador (X units), fourfold. The United States (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Costa Rica amounted to +44.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Ecuador (-5.3% per year) and the United States (-2.0% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for heat exchange unit exported from Peru were Indonesia ($X), the United States ($X) and Ecuador ($X), with a combined 58% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Bolivia, Costa Rica, Spain, Panama, Colombia, Venezuela and Mexico, which together accounted for a further 20%.

Spain, with a CAGR of +22.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the average heat exchange unit export price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -7.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, heat exchange unit export price decreased by -18.5% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 68%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Costa Rica ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+41.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Peru

In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of heat exchange units, when their volume increased by 11% to X units. In general, total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -21.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 83%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, heat exchange unit imports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a notable expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -11.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 82% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United States (X units), China (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) were the main suppliers of heat exchange unit imports to Peru, with a combined 51% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Brazil, South Korea, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Germany and Croatia, which together accounted for a further 23%.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Brazil (with a CAGR of +17.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of heat exchange units to Peru, comprising 29% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Brazil ($X), with a 5.8% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 5.4% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the United States amounted to +3.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (+12.0% per year) and China (+0.1% per year).

In 2022, the average heat exchange unit import price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -14.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 29%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per unit, and then declined in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Croatia (+26.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
