Bolivia (X kg) was the main destination for inactive yeast exports from Peru, accounting for a 66% share of total exports. Moreover, inactive yeast exports to Bolivia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X kg), threefold.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to the UK amounted to -16.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Bolivia (-27.8% per year) and Chile (-39.8% per year).

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of inactive yeasts and other dead single-cell micro-organisms, when their volume decreased by -58.8% to X tons. Overall, imports showed a deep slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 105% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In value terms, inactive yeast imports declined significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports recorded a noticeable curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 110% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.
