In value terms, non-numerically controlled lathe exports declined sharply to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 533% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Colombia (X units), Chile (X units) and Ecuador (X units) were the main destinations of non-numerically controlled lathe exports from Peru.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +18.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Colombia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal exports from Peru, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 21% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador, with an 8.1% share.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Colombia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Ecuador ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Peru
Non-numerically controlled lathe imports into Peru skyrocketed to X units in 2021, increasing by 40% compared with the year before. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 76%. Imports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-numerically controlled lathe imports rose to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 26% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest non-numerically controlled lathe supplier to Peru, accounting for a 31% share of total imports. Moreover, non-numerically controlled lathe imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), sevenfold. Democratic People's Republic of Korea (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled -2.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (-11.9% per year) and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (+11.3% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-numerically controlled horizontal lathes, for removing metal to Peru, comprising 39% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), with a 5.3% share of total imports. It was followed by the United States, with a 5.2% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from China totaled -8.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Taiwan (Chinese) (-8.4% per year) and the United States (-1.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average non-numerically controlled lathe import price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -27.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average import price increased by 22% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per unit), while the price for Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
