The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for orange exports from Peru, accounting for a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, orange exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), fivefold. Panama (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to the Netherlands stood at +17.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+8.3% per year) and Panama (+71.8% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the key foreign market for oranges exports from Peru, comprising 47% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 9.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the Netherlands amounted to +15.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+8.5% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+31.3% per year).

The average orange export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, growing by 5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 6.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Panama ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Dominican Republic (+8.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Peru
In 2022, imports of oranges into Peru declined to X tons, which is down by -10.2% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 372% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, orange imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by 405%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest orange supplier to Peru, accounting for a 80% share of total imports. Moreover, orange imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Chile (X tons), fourfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from the United States totaled +16.2%.
In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of oranges to Peru, comprising 84% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with a 16% share of total imports.
