The Netherlands (X tons) was the main destination for orange exports from Peru, accounting for a 57% share of total exports. Moreover, orange exports to the Netherlands exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X tons), fivefold. Panama (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.8% share.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 6.4%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Panama ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2022, imports of oranges into Peru declined to X tons, which is down by -10.2% compared with the previous year. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 372% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, orange imports contracted to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a remarkable increase.
