Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 156%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, exports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 167% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
Exports by Country
Bolivia (X tons) was the main destination for exports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds from Peru, accounting for a 53% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds to Bolivia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Chile (X tons), threefold. Ecuador (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 16% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Bolivia amounted to -2.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (+9.4% per year) and Ecuador (+5.3% per year).
In value terms, Bolivia ($X) remains the key foreign market for organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds exports from Peru, comprising 51% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Chile ($X), with an 18% share of total exports. It was followed by Ecuador, with a 16% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Bolivia stood at +2.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Chile (+15.8% per year) and Ecuador (+7.6% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average export price for organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds amounted to $X per ton, surging by 87% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a temperate increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, export price for organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds increased by +94.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports of Organo-Sulphur Compounds And Other Organo-Inorganic Compounds
Imports into Peru
In 2022, supplies from abroad of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds decreased by -34.3% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when imports increased by 23%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
In value terms, imports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds shrank notably to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports showed a slight curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 44%. Over the period under review, imports of attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds supplier to Peru, with a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, imports of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), fivefold. Belgium (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 9.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +9.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-10.8% per year) and Belgium (-4.5% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds to Peru, comprising 56% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the United States ($X), with a 9.7% share of total imports. It was followed by Belgium, with a 9.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China amounted to +12.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (-14.8% per year) and Belgium (-8.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average import price for organo-sulphur compounds and other organo-inorganic compounds amounted to $X per ton, picking up by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
