Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ecuador ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Bolivia totaled $X per ton.

Imports into Peru

In 2022, prepared additives for cements imports into Peru contracted sharply to X tons, with a decrease of -29% against the year before. In general, imports, however, enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 135% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, prepared additives for cements imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 104%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of prepared additives for cements to Peru, with a 34% share of total imports. Moreover, prepared additives for cements imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Brazil (X tons), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by South Korea (X tons), with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +45.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Brazil (+34.6% per year) and South Korea (+51.4% per year).

In value terms, China ($X), Chile ($X) and Brazil ($X) were the largest prepared additives for cements suppliers to Peru, together comprising 58% of total imports. South Korea, Spain, the United States, Colombia, Italy and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 35%.

In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
