In value terms, sauce and seasoning exports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +8.3% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +105.8% against 2013 indices. Imports into Peru
In 2021, the amount of sauces and seasonings imported into Peru soared to X tons, rising by 40% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, total imports indicated a prominent increase from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -0.5% against 2019 indices. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest sauce and seasoning supplier to Peru, accounting for a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, sauce and seasoning imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X tons), threefold. Mexico (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 13% share.
