In 2022, the average raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry yield in Peru soared to X tons per ha, increasing by 132% against the year before. Over the period under review, the yield enjoyed a remarkable increase. The raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry yield peaked at X tons per ha in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the yield failed to regain momentum. Despite the increased use of modern agricultural techniques and methods, future yield figures may still be impacted by adverse weather conditions.

Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 219% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
The United States (X tons) was the main destination for raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports from Peru, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X tons), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States stood at +99.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+65.5% per year) and China (+213.2% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) remains the key foreign market for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries exports from Peru, comprising 45% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 13% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to the United States amounted to +94.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+55.7% per year) and China (+211.2% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average export price for raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries stood at $X per ton in 2022, standing approx. at the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a abrupt contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 0.2%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to China ($X per ton) and Canada ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($X per ton) and Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (-0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Peru
In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries, when their volume decreased by -60.1% to X tons. In general, imports, however, recorded a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 336% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded resilient growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 295%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, the UK (X kg) constituted the largest raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry supplier to Peru, accounting for a 86% share of total imports. Moreover, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, and cranberry imports from the UK exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Chile (X kg), sixfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the UK was relatively modest.
In value terms, the UK ($X) constituted the largest supplier of raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and cranberries to Peru, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Chile ($X), with an 18% share of total imports.

Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a temperate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 58%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Chile ($X per ton), while the price for the UK amounted to $X per ton.
