Imports into Peru
Self-adhesive printed label imports into Peru reduced to X tons in 2022, dropping by -5.5% compared with the year before. In general, imports, however, saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 358% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, self-adhesive printed label imports shrank significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by 231%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Colombia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of self-adhesive printed label to Peru, with a 76% share of total imports. Moreover, self-adhesive printed label imports from Colombia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), ninefold. Chile (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Colombia stood at +74.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+6.8% per year) and Chile (-1.1% per year).
In value terms, Colombia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of self-adhesive printed labels to Peru, comprising 61% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with an 8.3% share of total imports. It was followed by Hong Kong SAR, with a 6.5% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Colombia totaled +42.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (-4.4% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (+0.6% per year).

The average self-adhesive printed label import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, reducing by -12.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 31%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
