Tamping machinery imports into Peru surged to X units in 2021, picking up by 60% against 2020 figures. Overall, imports posted a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 151% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, tamping machinery imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 116% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
