Concrete Tile Market Size in Peru
In 2022, the Peruvian concrete tile market decreased by -0.8% to $X, falling for the second year in a row after four years of growth. In general, consumption saw a strong expansion. Concrete tile consumption peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 1,355%. The exports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, concrete tile exports amounted to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when exports increased by 484% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Free Zones (X tons), Chile (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of concrete tile exports from Peru, together accounting for 100% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Free Zones (with a CAGR of +68.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Chile ($X), Free Zones ($X) and the United States ($X) were the largest markets for concrete tile exported from Peru worldwide, with a combined 98% share of total exports.
In terms of the main countries of destination, Free Zones, with a CAGR of +67.5%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
Export Prices by Country
The average concrete tile export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 45% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a pronounced descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 299%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Free Zones ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Chile (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Concrete Tile Imports
Imports into Peru
In 2022, the amount of tiles, flagstones, bricks and similar articles, of cement, concrete or artificial stone imported into Peru rose markedly to X tons, picking up by 5.9% compared with 2021 figures. In general, imports enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 140%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, concrete tile imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 36%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Free Zones (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of concrete tile to Peru, with a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, concrete tile imports from Free Zones exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), fourfold. The UK (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 4.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Free Zones amounted to +16.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+7.2% per year) and the UK (+51.6% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of tiles, flagstones, bricks and similar articles, of cement, concrete or artificial stone to Peru, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Free Zones ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 9.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +10.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Free Zones (+15.3% per year) and Italy (+24.2% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average concrete tile import price amounted to $X per ton, with a decrease of -18.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a noticeable decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 98% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while the price for Free Zones ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
