Imports into Peru

In 2021, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of titanium dioxide, when their volume decreased by -26.6% to X tons. Overall, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 711%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then contracted markedly in the following year.

In value terms, titanium dioxide imports reduced rapidly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, posted a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 642% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then declined significantly in the following year.

China (X tons), the United States (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) were the main suppliers of titanium dioxide imports to Peru, together comprising 83% of total imports. Canada, Germany, Singapore and Russia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 15%.
