Over the period under review, imports showed a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 634%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, greasy wool imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 568% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. In 2022, Chile (X tons) constituted the largest greasy wool supplier to Peru, with a 78% share of total imports. Moreover, greasy wool imports from Chile exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X tons), fivefold.
