The Philippine centrifuges market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after two years of decline. Overall, consumption saw a prominent expansion. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, centrifuges exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 1,838% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X units) was the main destination for centrifuges exports from the Philippines, with a 49% share of total exports. Moreover, centrifuges exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Nauru (X units), twofold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Vietnam (X units), with a 7.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Japan stood at +33.0%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Nauru (0.0% per year) and Vietnam (0.0% per year).

In value terms, Vietnam ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for centrifuges exports from the Philippines, comprising 16% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by South Korea ($X), with a 4.2% share of total exports. It was followed by Oman, with a 3.8% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Vietnam was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Korea (-41.3% per year) and Oman (+3.4% per year).

In 2021, the average centrifuges export price amounted to $X per unit, with an increase of 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a sharp decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when the average export price increased by 2,237% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Vietnam ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Nauru ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+120.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in overseas purchases of centrifuges, when their volume increased by 55% to X units. In general, imports enjoyed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 99% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, centrifuges imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 217%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X units), Japan (X units) and the United States (X units) were the main suppliers of centrifuges imports to the Philippines, together comprising 77% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Japan (with a CAGR of +55.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest centrifuges suppliers to the Philippines were China ($X), Japan ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 64% share of total imports. The United States, France, Singapore, Italy, Malaysia, India, South Korea and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 29%.

Among the main suppliers, France, with a CAGR of +106.5%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average centrifuges import price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -6.8% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the average import price increased by 84% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
