The Philippine concentrated apple juice market declined markedly to $X in 2021, waning by -45.1% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In value terms, concentrated apple juice exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 901%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Palau (X tons), Marshall Islands (X tons) and Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons) were the main destinations of concentrated apple juice exports from the Philippines, with a combined 47% share of total exports. Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Kuwait, Micronesia, Samoa, Guam, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong SAR and Canada lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 43%.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for New Zealand (with a CAGR of +53.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kuwait ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Marshall Islands ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for concentrated apple juice exported from the Philippines worldwide, together comprising 44% of total exports. In 2021, the average concentrated apple juice export price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 6.6% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, concentrated apple juice export price increased by +34.2% against 2019 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 33%. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concentrated apple juice imports fell significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 34% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

In 2021, the United States (X tons) constituted the largest concentrated apple juice supplier to the Philippines, with a 43% share of total imports. Moreover, concentrated apple juice imports from the United States exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Taiwan (Chinese) (X tons), with an 11% share.

Slovenia, with a CAGR of +553.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average concentrated apple juice import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, shrinking by -5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 24%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($X per ton), while the price for Germany ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
