Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Japan (X units) was the main destination for wooden door exports from the Philippines, with a 92% share of total exports. Moreover, wooden door exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United States (X units), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Japan totaled +34.8%.
In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for doors and their frames and thresholds of wood exports from the Philippines, comprising 92% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United States ($X), with a 7.7% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Japan totaled +33.3%.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average wooden door export price amounted to $X per unit, surging by 33% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 82%. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the United States totaled $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to France (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into the Philippines
In 2021, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of doors and their frames and thresholds of wood, when their volume increased by 13% to X units. In general, imports showed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 55%. Imports peaked at X units in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, wooden door imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 76% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest wooden door supplier to the Philippines, with a 69% share of total imports. Moreover, wooden door imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X units), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Indonesia (X units), with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +4.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+10.4% per year) and Indonesia (+47.6% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of doors and their frames and thresholds of wood to the Philippines, comprising 69% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Thailand ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Indonesia, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China stood at +20.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+26.1% per year) and Indonesia (+68.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average wooden door import price stood at $X per unit in 2021, with an increase of 8% against the previous year. In general, the import price enjoyed a buoyant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 59%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices from Japan ($X per unit) and Thailand ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) and Indonesia ($X per unit) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+17.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
