Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports stood at $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when exports increased by 2,182%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Japan (X tons) was the main destination for non-reinforced rubber tubing exports from the Philippines, with a 63% share of total exports. Moreover, non-reinforced rubber tubing exports to Japan exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Australia (X tons), fourfold. Brazil (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Japan amounted to +51.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Australia (+101.5% per year) and Brazil (+104.3% per year).
In value terms, Japan ($X) remains the key foreign market for rubber tubing not reinforced exports from the Philippines, comprising 46% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Australia, with an 18% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Japan amounted to +47.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Brazil (+101.7% per year) and Australia (+124.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average non-reinforced rubber tubing export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 3.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a mild increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+11.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the Philippines
In 2021, the amount of rubber tubing not reinforced imported into the Philippines surged to X tons, picking up by 37% on the previous year. Overall, imports saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 69%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports soared to $X in 2021. In general, imports showed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by 72% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Malaysia (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of non-reinforced rubber tubing to the Philippines, with a 64% share of total imports. Moreover, non-reinforced rubber tubing imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X tons), twofold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Malaysia totaled +13.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+31.2% per year) and Thailand (-13.8% per year).
In value terms, Malaysia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of rubber tubing not reinforced to the Philippines, comprising 55% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by China ($X), with a 26% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Malaysia totaled +16.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+33.6% per year) and Thailand (-21.7% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average non-reinforced rubber tubing import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -13.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 46% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2019 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
