Over the period under review, exports recorded a sharp reduction. The smallest decline of -7.4% was in 2013. Over the period under review, the exports of hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Singapore (X tons) was the main destination for exports of graphic paper with mechanical fibre content under 10% and of weight under X g/m² from the Philippines, accounting for a 85% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of graphic paper with mechanical fibre content under 10% and of weight under X g/m² to Singapore exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Guam (X kg), ninefold. China (X kg) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 2.3% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Singapore stood at +21.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Guam (-8.6% per year) and China (+20.5% per year).

The second position in the ranking was taken by Guam ($X), with a 5.6% share of total exports. It was followed by China, with a 3.5% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Singapore amounted to +23.1%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Guam (-19.3% per year) and China (+14.1% per year).

In 2021, the average export price for graphic paper with mechanical fibre content under 10% and of weight under X g/m² amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -35.6% against the previous year. Overall, export price indicated a slight increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. In general, imports continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of 43%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports of remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, imports of graphic paper with mechanical fibre content under 10% and of weight under X g/m² dropped notably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports showed a pronounced decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 30%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X.
