Ukraine (X units) was the main destination for aircraft exports from Poland, with a 82% share of total exports. Moreover, aircraft exports to Ukraine exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the United Arab Emirates (X units), more than tenfold. Germany (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 3.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Ukraine totaled +94.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+129.7% per year) and Germany (+14.2% per year).
In value terms, Ukraine ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for airplanes and other aircraft exports from Poland, comprising 70% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Germany ($X), with an 8% share of total exports. It was followed by Norway, with a 1.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Ukraine amounted to +59.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+0.2% per year) and Norway (+30.9% per year).

The average aircraft export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, falling by -64.8% against the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a deep slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 122% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to India (+107.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland
Aircraft imports into Poland fell markedly to X units in 2022, with a decrease of -61.2% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 173%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2021, and then plummeted in the following year.
In value terms, aircraft imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, saw noticeable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 165%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Ukraine (X units) constituted the largest aircraft supplier to Poland, with a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, aircraft imports from Ukraine exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X units), threefold. Canada (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 15% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Ukraine stood at +52.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United States (+15.6% per year) and Canada (+25.3% per year).
In value terms, the United States ($X) constituted the largest supplier of airplanes and other aircraft to Poland, comprising 58% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Ukraine ($X), with a 13% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from the United States totaled +11.8%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Ukraine (+37.9% per year) and Italy (+16.9% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average aircraft import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, jumping by 75% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 197%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+33.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
